Error Code 777
"The connection attempt failed because the modem on the remote computer is out of order"
Another fairly self explanitory erorr message.
Esssentially the device you are calling is not answering properly. This could be due to many issues:
- modem could be broken/fried
- modem not plugged into the line
- if its plugged into the fax line.. the fax machine might be answering instead of the modem
- software on remote machine might not be configured properly
Have whoever is in charge of the modem you are dialing check to make sure it is plugged in and working correctly. To help them
troubleshoot their problem, you might want to take note if when you attempt to connect, do you dial, and start to handshake with their
modem.. or does it ring through.. or does it handshake and then disconnect... This will help them diagnose their modem problem possibly.
