Hayes is regarded as the pioneer in the modem field. Unfortunately this once proud manufacturer decalred bankruptcy and is closed up shop. Hayes bought up Practical Peripherals as well. Unfortunately no one knows how much if any support there will be for these modems once the bankruptcy process is over. Just prior to bankruptcy, Hayes got into ADSL and Cable modems and both their products in these fields were looking pretty good.
Hayes 56k modems are based on the Rockwell chipset and support 56kFlex and V.90.
